Hi, I’m Kata, a licensed guide in Austria. Originally from Hungary, 8 years ago I came to Salzburg on a day trip. On that day I fell in love with this breathtakingly beautiful city, so I quit my marketing job in London, packed my bags, moved and haven’t looked back since!
I started guiding bike tours, first as a summer job, but I soon realised how much I enjoy showing guests around, sharing my knowledge, and getting to know new people every day. With 7 years of experience and now with my official license I can show it all to you!
What I Do
I offer a selection of different themed and private tours in English around Salzburg, specialising in knowledge about the Sound of Music movie, just because I love it! If you prefer a completely customised tour, please get in touch.
I have also created two self-guided tours, in case you would like to learn about Salzburg or the Sound of Music in your own time.

To become an official licensed tourist guide in Austria means completing a 2 year compulsory course offered by the state, then being examined for all your chosen languages, guiding on a bus and while walking, a written and oral exam covering topics from the whole course.
Once all classes are attended, all semesters and exams are passed successfully an official trade licence for guiding is issued, which enables guiding anywhere in Austria as an “Austria Guide”.
